How I Keep My Tattoos Bright

I'm constantly getting questions regarding my tattoos from who does my work, whether it hurt, and what they mean. The most common thing people tell me is how bright and vibrant my tattoos look. I take such pride in trying to maintain the appearance of my tattoos and today I wanted to share with you some tips and tricks. Some of these steps may seem pretty obvious or maybe even something you'd never think of. They are very easy and I swear by them. I don't do this routine on a daily basis, I do this one to two times a week especially in warmer months. Let's start!

Blushing Denim

I love denim colored clothing, and that probably has to do with the fact that I hate wearing jeans pants. Denim dresses and tops are my favorites, and I love pairing it with a bright pop of color. My favorite being red! Since I just received these embroidered blush mules I figured blush would go perfectly with the dress. I have been really into loafers and mules lately that I may have to soon share with you all a collective haul! As for now enjoy the few photos of my outfit from Saturday. I tried to get more but it was flipping hot outside!

My Favorite Apps For iPhone

Like most people, I'm on my phone a lot. Whenever I'm out, hanging out with friends, or spending time with Rudy I try not to be on my phone as much. For the most part, I feel that I'm pretty good and putting my phone away so that I can enjoy my time with people. For the times that my phone has my complete attention, there are specific apps that I love. I wanted to share with you today my top five favorite apps.
Instagram: The very first app I downloaded when I got my first iPhone was Instagram. It was and still is one of my favorite social media apps. This is the app I am most active on and I love having this place to share my favorite photos in. Thanks to IG I've had a few well-known brands discover my page and some of my photos whether it be past makeup looks, Disney interior, or tattoos of mine. I've even met so many incredible people here too! A lot of Disney lovers and best friends! It's always so much fun for me to post a new photo and see the kind of feedback I may receive from it, also the people it will attract. I think IG is also the best app to try and get noticed. I use it a lot to advertise my blog by adding hashtags that relate to the post. A lot of people search photos through hashtags so if your photo is under a specific hashtag then it will be a lot easier for someone to find you that way. If you have IG don't forget to follow me! Ohhjuliana
VSCO: I love taking photos whether it be for IG or my blog. I always use VSCO to edit my photos, always. I don't like to go extreme on editing my photos and I mainly stick to adjusting the contrast and brightening the image. I try to make my photos look like a better version of itself in a natural way. Other steps I usually include is clarifying the photo along with sharpening it if needed. After I'm finished with those steps the photo tends to look a little dull or washed out so this is when I bring the saturation up a bit. Once all of that is completed I'm all done editing my photo. This app makes it extremely easy for anyone to edit a photo, it even has a lot more options such as all the basics and a few filters. This app is perfect for beginners.
AColorStory: This is definitely my favorite app for fun colorful filters. A Color Story is filled with a variety of editing tools, filters, and effects. I purchased this app over a year ago back when it was first released and I nearly own every single pack they offer. Every time they release a new pack of either filters or effect, I buy it! Their filters are so much fun and for every pack, they have a small note for what the filters are best used for. For example; their Weekend pack comes with 11 filters and they are best used for photos of oceans, sunsets, florals, and lifestyle. Of course, use them to your liking. I love using a lot of their filters for interior/home, photos of myself that was taken outside, and nature photos such as flowers. If you are interested in downloading this app I highly recommend you purchase the entire thing especially if you are one who loves messing around with tons of filters. It's so worth it!
Snapchat: A more personal and in the moment app is Snapchat. This app is a lot of fun and you are able to snap a photo or record a 10-second video and share with all your friends. This is a good way of seeing exactly what your friends have been up to in the last 24 hours. They are always coming out with different filters and there are even specific filters you can use depending on your current location. I have a ton of fun with this app. Rudy and I send each other funny pics and videos all day long. I also enjoy seeing what my friends and family are up to especially the ones who don't live close to me.
YouTube: I am always on Youtube watching videos from my favorite Youtubers while constantly looking for new videos and people to watch. This app is so perfect when you are trying to pass time also when you're trying to learn something new. I swear if you're looking for something, Youtube will most likely have a video for it! I definitely get a ton of use from this app. I start my mornings watching new videos from some of my favorites and sometimes I end my day with a few more videos.

Now that I've shared some of my favorite apps, I'd love to hear what are some of your can't live without apps that I should download and didn't include on my list.

Summer Bucket List

I've never made a bucket list for myself let alone a Summer bucket list. One morning as I was browsing through old blog posts I realized that there are a few things I'd love to do this Summer. I always try to think of things Rudy and I can do every season so why not write them down and try checking them off one by one. There are even a few things that I've already accomplished! I think I'm going to also try making a bucket list for every season and see what I actually get done. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Visit a Fair! ✔️
I hadn't been to a fair in so long and I can't even tell you when was the last I went to one. As a kid, I was the biggest fan of going to fairs or carnivals during Summer. Luckily a town close by holds a fair every year and Rudy and I checked it out this past weekend since we missed it last year. It was a lot of fun, minus the fact that it was incredibly hot. Next time I go to a Fair I'd like to make sure it's more in the late afternoon, around when the sun is close to setting. That way it won't be so hot and how cool will photos look with all the lights?

Catch a late movie! ✔️
This is something Rudy and I never do, go to the theaters late. I enjoy going to the movies and watch the earliest showing for a few reasons: One, tickets are extremely cheap! Two, the theater is usually empty. Three, you have the rest of the day to go on another adventure. And four, I'm up early anyway haha. I hate watching a movie in a crowded theater since people are usually loud and don't understand the fact that there are other people also trying to enjoy the film they paid for. A couple weeks ago Rudy and I caught a late showing of Cars 3 and I have to admit it was nice catching a late movie for a change. There are many more movies out and coming out that I'd love to see this Summer.

Visit a beach! ✔️
This is definitely me stepping outside of my comfort zone. I never go to the beach and I'm not the biggest fan of it for a few reasons. I hate being out in the sun and feeling hot. Rudy has been wanting to go to the beach for a while now. After watching MOANA and seeing how beautiful the ocean was it changed my mind making me want to go to the ocean. I'd much rather visit someplace tropical like Hawaii but a local beach will have to do for now. It'll also be nice to visit new places and keep things adventurous.

Enjoy a BBQ! ✔️
Another thing I managed to already do. On Fourth of July, my dad actually threw a BBQ at home. We used to have BBQ's at my house what felt like all the time during Summer and it was so nice having another one on the holiday. There was so much delicious food I was so stuffed. I live for those toasty corns, yum! There's nothing like a BBQ dinner in the Summer time!

Wear as many dresses as possible! ✔️
I love wearing dresses and I already try wearing them as much as I possibly can. They are so easy to dress, no pun intended. It's one piece of clothing and all you have to do is slip it on! No need to worry about other pieces matching and it keeps you feeling so fresh on hot days. I don't even have to mention how comfy they are.

Go on a picnic!
For weeks now I've been wanting to go to a park and have a picnic. I want to go all out with a blanket, basket, some chips or crackers to snack on, home made sandwiches, fruits, and Belvoir rose lemonade. This would be a perfect way to spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying Mother Nature. I'm really hoping to accomplish this one this weekend, so I'll have to find the perfect picnic basket!

Eat some frozen yogurt!
I'm not a huge ice cream girl but I'm a big fan of frozen yogurt! When Rudy and I first started dating I remember we would go to Pinkberry almost every week for dinner haha. It was so much fun. I find froyo to be so much more lightweight than ice cream, and I love adding toppings to it. This is such an easy way for me to sneak more fruits into my diet too. It's such a healthier alternative.

Go swimming!
When I was a kid you could catch me somewhere swimming all Summer long. Back then we had a few family members who had pools at their house, outside of San Jose that is, during our visit we would all be on the water until dark. If we weren't there we had season passes to Ranging Waters. I was seriously a mermaid and never wanted out of the water haha. Since growing up and becoming a lot more body conscious I haven't stepped foot into a pool in ages! On warm days it really makes me miss swimming. Every year when Summer ends I sadly say how there goes another Summer I didn't go swimming. I don't know how or where but I'm making it a mission to go swimming somewhere this year!

Take a small or big trip! ✔️
It's been so long since Rudy and I have gone on a vacation. Seven months to be exact, but who's counting... The last couple of years we took countless of trips to Disneyland it was truly magical. We got to enjoy Disney so much and I really miss it. There are a few places I really want to go but there is one place specifically that is mine and Rudy's mission to get to. We're crossing our fingers and toes that this can happen sometime in the next few weeks. Cross your fingers for us and don't forget your toes!

Is there anything on your Summer bucket list?

A Day At The Fair

I can't remember when was the last time I visited a fair. As a kid my family would go to a local fair our church held every single year and I would always look forward to those days. On Sunday Rudy and I went to visit the Alameda County Fair. The fair was really nice and neither one of us had ever been to it. They had a large variety of rides, games, foods and drinks. I really wanted to take a ton of pictures but it was so insanely hot to the point that it was uncomfortable. I had a lot of fun and got on a couple of rides, played a few games, and ate some tacos. We cut the day short because we were both a hot sweaty mess to be completely honest haha. Here are some of the photos I did manage to take. Enjoy!

The Rose Garden

The first time I visited the Rose Garden was ten years ago, and this was when and where my High School graduation took place. Last Saturday Rudy and I headed over there to spend the early afternoon walking around and enjoying the nice weather. I'm so happy that we finally made a visit here because it was truly magical, not at all how I remember it. As we walked in it felt like I was in Wonderland, no exaggerations, where Alice runs into the deck of cards followed by the Queen of Hearts. It felt like a maze of roses and one that I wanted to get lost and never come out of. No worries I took tons of photos so that I could share this magical place with you guys. Now get ready for the mega photos overload!
