beginning to pull herself up to climb up things like her crib and diaper boxes.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EShe's officially army crawling and she's really good and fast at it too.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWe've had to bring down her crib completely since she knows how to lift herself up.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis was a good one, but Lucy is now officially crawling! The army crawl did not last long.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELucy said meow once haha.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHer third tooth has finally broken through, the top one.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELucy has all four top front teeth out! Without making this intro too long, I just wanted to say that this past year has been the hardest, challenging, most rewarding, and best year of my life. I never knew what I wanted to do growing up, but being a mother was the only thing I was certain I wanted to become. I'll never get tired of saying this, Lucy is my miracle. She means the world to me yes because she is my child but also because she made me become who I always wanted to be. Lucy literally made all my dreams come true, my little embryo that finally stuck. My baby is turning one so I had to make sure we had one-year photos taken of Lucy to commemorate this milestone.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETo say I am obsessed with every single photo is an understatement. They turned out better than I could have imagined. I wanted to do two types of photos. I fell in love with the park we had our \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.ohhjuliana.com\/2021\/09\/family-photos-2021.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003Efamily photos\u003C\/a\u003E taken that we went back to get some photos of Lucy taken with her pink tutu and her 1 birthday hat. It's hard to say what photos are my favorite but I think these sets of photos win by a hair. In the second set of photos, I wanted to capture Lucy going crazy over her very first smash cake. I always hear that babies either love or don't want anything to do with their smash cakes. I just knew Lucy was going to go wild with hers, and I was correct. This was the first time Lucy had cake let alone anything \"\u003Ci\u003Esweet\u003C\/i\u003E\", even though everything was substituted with healthier baby-friendly ingredients. Now I'm even more excited to see her with her smash cake on the day of her party.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EI wanted to share some of my favorites from this shoot, but who am I kidding? The first one broke through on June 21 and then the second appeared on the 28.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELucy is now rolling in her sleep and loves sleeping on her right side or on her belly.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EShe is officially sitting up all on her own!\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELucy said mama once on June 23, hasn't said it again since then.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EShe claps her hands.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWe had her tongue tie clipped and she was so incredibly brave.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELucy gives us high fives.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIs sleeping 11-12 hours at night.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EShe officially knows how to drink from a straw.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESo much happened in just this last month of her life it's freaking insane. I cannot believe that in just three more months I will officially have a one-year-old. My mind is blown. These past nine months have been the best of my entire life. Lucy is now eating a mixture of pureé and solid foods so I wanted to share what she eats in a day. Lucy is still exclusively breastfed and nurses multiple times a day. I follow the Taking Cara Babies schedule (eat, play, sleep) and I was nursing Lucy every 3 hours or more following her hunger cues starting when she'd wake up from naps. Over the last two months, I started offering the boob to her before nap time aswell. I figured it would be good for the both of us and I'm always happy to feed her so that my milk supply never dips. Not only is she being breastfed through the day she is now eating up to three meals per day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhen it comes to foods normally I sit Lucy down on the high chair to eat anywhere around an hour 15 minutes to an hour and a half after she wakes up\/nurses. I do try to offer her small portions at a time so I won't overwhelm her. If Lucy wants more food I give her more to eat, if she doesn't want anything or isn't interested in eating then she doesn't have to eat. I'm really trying to encourage her to have a healthy relationship with food. I know a lot of parents really encourage their kids to eat everything that is on their plate or they couldn't leave the kitchen table, wouldn't be allowed to have dessert, or wouldn't be able to go out and play. I'm allowing Lucy to explore foods and decided for herself what she likes and how much she wants. Here I served Lucy a peach chia seed pudding that I made. I blended a peach into a pureé then mixed it with chia seeds, about a teaspoon of flaxseeds, and coconut milk. I normally make this the night before so that it can be ready to eat by the following morning. I also like adding yogurt to her pudding because sometimes the consistency of the pudding comes out way too thick. When it's the perfect texture this is when she really enjoys feeding herself. It gets really messy but she has a lot of fun. Once I have everything mixed together I sprinkled some cinnamon and she was a huge fan of this! We're subscribed to the Yumi subscription and I've quite enjoyed all the different fruit and vegetables they have to offer. Lucy has enjoyed just about every jar of theirs and I ended up serving her one of their fruits for lunch. Here she is having their dragon fruit pear food and I sprinkled a few flax seeds and hemp seeds on top. She had some toast with peanut butter on the side and I even gave her a small bunch of shredded cheese, her favorite, not pictured though. Lucy is a huge fan of toast!\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAnother favorite of ours is the Once Upon A Farm fruit and veggies pouches. These make it really easy to feed Lucy especially when we're out running errands and won't make it home in time for her to eat. I usually toss one in the diaper bag and feed it to her while we're out, and it's even easier to feed her these since she now understands that she just needs to suck on it for the food to come out. It's so cute watching her eat these. I had made her some quinoa for the first time to mix in with some veggies some examples were avocados and sweet potato. For today's dinner, she had quinoa that I cooked with some minced garlic, vegan butter, water, and a splash of vegetable broth. I mashed up half of an avocado and mixed it with the quinoa but I thought the texture was too thick for Lucy to consume so I added a splash of coconut milk to thin it out and she devoured it! Major win and since this she's already had it multiple times. I mentioned sweet potato earlier and I went ahead and added some to her dinner one day along with coconut milk and I sprinkled some cinnamon. That was such a precious photo that left me so inspired to do the same with my daughter one day. I kept that photo saved and always told Rudy that I wanted to do something similar one day. Since giving birth to Lucy, I kept reminding Rudy that as soon as Lucy is capable of sitting up on her own we need to purchase a bunch of strawberries and do a photo shoot. The past weekend we finally did and you guys, the photos are the most precious! Not only did I manage to capture dozens of beautiful photos of Lucy, but she was having the best time. Lucy is such a water baby, she loves anything that has to do with water; bath time, swimming, water activities, and even her new splash pad.
